High pressure hose ( known by the short name RVD) or commonly referred to as high pressure hose is a flexible pipe used to transport hydraulic and mineral oils, liquid fuels, gases and emulsions at high pressures. High pressure hoses are used where rigid metal piping cannot be installed.
Hydraulic hoses are usually installed where there are elbows or moving elements, e.g. to transfer energy to lift an excavator bucket. High-pressure hoses not only transmit energy, but also products, for example to pump pressurised drilling fluids into a well. RVDs have several layers: an internal rubber tube layer, a steel wire or textile-reinforced and an external rubber cover layer.
RVD Design
The structure of a high pressure hose consists of a special sealing inner rubber layer, a metal or textile skeleton and a protective outer layer. The inner layer of the RVD is extruded from special rubber compositions that provide high sealing, tensile strength and corrosion resistance. The intermediate power frame consists of a strong synthetic or metallic wire. The wire is braided using a specialised braiding machine. There may be more than one power frame in an RVD design to ensure the reliability of high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage systems.

Each type of braided and wound hose is provided with a separate working pressure indicator. They must comply with the requirements of European standards - EN 853 and EN 857 for braided hoses and EN 856 for wound hoses.
The standards define the possibility of using high-pressure hoses in the temperature range from -40°C to +100°C. For extreme conditions, Sinopulse produces hoses that can be used in the range of -55°C to +155°C. The maximum bending radius is the value that determines the maximum bending radius of the hose.
