Spiral hoses offer higher working pressures across the entire size range. While they are heavier in construction compared to braided hoses, they typically have a higher pulse life, making them ideal for more demanding applications.
Spiral hoses are manufactured to SAE standards (100R12, 100R13, and 100R15) or ISO 18752. ISO specifications also include letter codes for impulse life ratings. Most manufacturers exceed these specifications and offer a line of "constant pressure" hoses, meaning the entire size range is capable of 3000, 4000, 5000, or 6000 PSI.
Braided hoses are more flexible than spiral hoses and are ideal for in-equipment routing. They are typically used for medium-to-high pressure applications in the smaller sizes and medium-to-low pressure applications in the larger sizes.
Braided hydraulic hoses are manufactured to SAE standards (100R1, 100R2, 100R16, 100R17, or 100R19) or ISO 18752. ISO specifications also include letter codes for impulse life ratings.
Textile-reinforced hoses are used in low-pressure systems, typically in suction and return lines. They have a smaller bend radius and are suitable for larger diameters than metal reinforced braided or spiral hoses.
Textile reinforced hydraulic hoses are manufactured to SAE standards (100R3 or 100R5 and can also be DOT rated).
Suction hoses are typically made with textile or synthetic fiber reinforcement and have a spiral wire for applications with higher vacuum requirements.
Suction hoses are manufactured to SAE standards (100R4).
Thermoplastic hoses are made of two layers of thermoplastic with a reinforcement layer in between, which can be braided wire or synthetic fiber. They are ideal for applications with high abrasion and flexibility, and are often used in lifting equipment. These hoses can be conductive (black outer layer) or non-conductive (orange outer layer). Thermoplastic hoses are manufactured to SAE standards (100R7 or 100R8).
AC hoses are designed for refrigerant type fluids, which have a small molecular structure and can penetrate other standard products. Our hoses meet SAE J2064 Type C and Type F specifications
