Oxygen hose and Oxygen Tank and Regulator Gauges in hospital
Acetylene Hose Manufacturer in China

Acetylene Hose

An acetylene hose is a type designed explicitly for acetylene gas use. It is made from a particular rubber type resistant to acetylene gas’s high temperatures and pressures. The hose is reinforced with a braided steel wire to provide additional strength and durability. The acetylene hose is typically connected to acetylene tanks, welding torches, and other equipment.

Welding gas hoses are used to deliver welding gas to welding equipment. high quality with a flame retardant outer

We manufacture 3/16″, 1/4″ and 3/8″ oxygen and acetylene hoses for welding, brazing, cutting and more. All oxygen and acetylene hoses kits feature our breakthrough strain relief.

We offer a variety of oxy acetylene hose, welding hose lengths and accessories to ensure the correct hose connection.

What are the grades of acetylene welding hose

There are two grades of acetylene welding hose. Grade R hoses are the most popular and cheapest. Grade R is for acetylene only. The tube and cover are not fire or oil resistant. RM grade is for acetylene only and has a cover that is oil resistant and flame retardant. However, the tube is not oil or fire resistant. Due to the high permeability and pressure of new gas, R and RM grades should not be used. Grade T should be used when the gas is not acetylene; however, acetylene can be used (which is why some gas appliance manufacturers include Grade T hose in their kits). The advantage of Grade T is that the tube and cover are flame and oil resistant. It also has a self-extinguishing tube and cover that provides external and internal protection against adverse conditions (e.g. hot slag, tempering)

What welding hoses can do

Welding hose is often underestimated and overused. Its users drag it through all kinds of sludge and/or use it to pull equipment. It’s stepped on, repelled, spilled, and left behind. Yet, you rely on it to do an important job – safely transporting flammable gases to the flare. This rubber hose carries an abundant source of oxygen (under pressure) in addition to flammable gases.

What is the RMA/CGA IP-7 Standard?

The Industrial Gas Apparatus Committee of the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) and the Hose Technical Committee of the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) jointly prepared the RMA/CGA IP-7 standard. This standard was written to cover light duty, standard duty and heavy-duty hose to be used with oxy-fuel gas equipment for welding, cutting or other allied processes, such as brazing, metallizing, heating and scarfing downstream of a pressure control device (such as a regulator).

Why are Grades R and RM for acetylene only?

For many years the prevalent fuel gas in the industry was acetylene. Acetylene has little or no adverse effects on rubber. Therefore, no requirements for fuel gas compatibility were initially specified in the RMA/CGA IP-7 standard. Due to enhanced performance or reduced cost, different types of fuel gases (propane, natural gas, MAPP, propylene, hydrogen, etc.) became popular. Many of these fuel gases are detrimental to certain types of rubber. With the use of these fuel gases, combining the wrong hose and fuel could lead to premature hose failure, property damage and personal injury.

What do the Grades and Types mean?

Grade R – for acetylene only. Tube and cover are not flame or oil resistant.

Grade RM – for acetylene only. Tube is not oil or flame resistant, flame and oil resistant cover.

Grade T – for all fuel gases. Flame and oil resistant tube and cover.

Type L – light duty service, single line

Type S – standard duty service, single line

Type H – heavy-duty service, single line

Type VD – vulcanized double line (twin weld hose)

What hose do I need when the gas is acetylene?

It is acceptable to use Grade R, RM and T with acetylene. However the application should be evaluated before the selection of a particular Grade of hose (See “When should I use Grade T hose?”)

When should I use Grade T hose?

If you are using a fuel gas other than acetylene, you must use Grade T hose. Grade T hose ensures compatibility with the gas being conveyed and user safety. If using acetylene, Grade T hose may provide additional featuresover the Grade R and RM that make it beneficial for the applications. Some of these are:

Oil resistance: When exposed to an oil environment, the Grade R hose may become soft and tacky. This can lead to cover separation from the reinforcement or excessive wear of the cover. Both of these conditions can lead to premature hose failure and decreased service life. The Grade T hose provides protection from oil, both internally and externally, while only the cover of the Grade RM provides this protection.

Flame Resistance: The Grade T hose provides added protection, both externally and internally, when exposed to a flame or hot materials. The tube and cover of the Grade T hose are self-extinguishing and provide maximum safety when exposed to adverse conditions such as hot slag, flash backs or inadvertent flame exposure. The cover of the Grade RM hose also provides this protection. Grade R has no flame resistance requirements.

Sinopulse offers a wide selection of oxygen and acetylene hoses in a variety of lengths and inside diameters to suit every application. Oxygen hoses are blue in color, while acetylene hoses are red. Oxygen acetylene units are a useful addition to shop or mobile cutting, heating and welding equipment.

Sinopulse offers oxygen and acetylene hoses for highly abrasive welding applications. This unique hose consists of oxygen (blue) and acetylene (red) hoses, forming one solution for all welding and gas applications. Oxygen and acetylene hoses have a special rubber cover with self-extinguishing properties for operation under spark and flame pressure associated with welding.
