Section 1: Safety Instructions
1.1 Intended Use
The RTM-S0106 hydraulic crimping tool is a handheld crimping tool designed for sealing connections of rubber hoses and matching hose fittings and accessories. Any other use is considered unauthorized.
RTM takes no responsibility for any consequences or damage caused by the use of hydraulic crimping tools from other manufacturers or RTM's tools.
Authorized use includes adherence to the user manual, inspection, maintenance requirements, and compliance with safety instructions.
The RTM-S0106 hydraulic crimping tool is for handheld use only and must not be used in fixed applications or with auxiliary force-enhancing devices, as this could cause permanent damage to the equipment. The tool is intended solely for its specified use.

1.2 General Safety Regulations
Attention! Please read all safety instructions and guidelines carefully.
Failure to adhere to safety instructions may lead to fire, personal injury, or other serious consequences.
Keep all safety instructions and guidelines in a safe place for future reference.
The term "handheld tool" refers to a tool designed for two-handed operation and should not be placed in a fixed or supported position on the ground.

  1. Work Area
    a. Keep the work area clean and organized; a cluttered or poorly lit workspace can lead to accidents.
    b. Do not use the tool in flammable, explosive, or dusty environments, as sparks from metal impact may cause fires or explosions.
    c. Keep children and other people away while operating the tool, as distraction may result in accidents.
  2. Personal Safety
    a. Remain alert and aware of your actions while operating the tool. Do not use the tool if fatigued, or under the influence of medication, alcohol, or drugs, as this can cause serious injury.
    b. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and always use safety glasses. Depending on the working environment, wear other PPE such as a dust mask, non-slip work shoes, safety helmet, and hearing protection to reduce injury risks.
    c. Before use, remove any adjustment tools or wrenches and check if the keychain interferes with tool operation to prevent injury.
    d. Avoid excessive extension of hoses, ensure they are properly positioned, and maintain balance for better control in case of an accident.
    e. Wear appropriate clothing and avoid loose garments or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing, or gloves away from the jaws and handle to prevent injury.
    f. Ensure any vacuum or extraction systems are connected and used correctly to prevent accidents from dust exposure.
  3. Using and Maintaining the Hydraulic Crimping Tool
    a. Do not overload the tool. Before each use, fully retract the piston by rotating the pressure release valve counterclockwise. This will retract the crimping jaws close to the fixed jaw seat.
    b. Rotate the crimping tool's fixed jaw seat counterclockwise to move it away from the bottom of the oil cylinder. Remove the pin connected to the keychain and replace the crimping module with one that matches the hose.
    c. Select brass or aluminum fittings that match the hose and fully insert the hose into the fitting. Check that the assembly is correctly positioned.
    d. Insert the assembled hose fitting into the jaw seat, close the movable jaw seat onto the fixed jaw seat, align the pin holes, and insert the pin until fully seated.
    e. Rotate the crimping tool's fixed jaw seat clockwise to bring it closer to the bottom of the oil cylinder.
    f. Recheck that the piston is fully retracted, rotate the pressure release valve counterclockwise to retract the piston completely, then rotate the valve clockwise to close it (tighten).
    g. Gently press the handle to slowly bring the crimping jaws toward the hose fitting, adjusting the fitting's position within the jaws. Once in the correct position, proceed with crimping.
    h. Continuously monitor the fitting during crimping to ensure both quality and appearance meet the requirements.
    i. After crimping, slowly rotate the pressure release valve counterclockwise. The piston will retract quickly due to its spring force. Remove the pin connected to the keychain and open the jaws to remove the crimped hose fitting.
    j. Repeat the crimping process for the next fitting, or clean the tool and store it in the toolbox.
Attention! Keep tools out of reach of children. Unauthorized use by untrained personnel can lead to equipment damage or personal injury.
Attention! Do not extend the handle to increase leverage! This will cause permanent damage to the tool.
Attention! If the hose and fitting are not correctly positioned, the jaws are not close to the oil cylinder, or the module group and hose fittings are incompatible, do not attempt to operate the tool. This could cause permanent damage. Also, avoid placing your hands near any pinch points while operating the tool!
  4. Tool Maintenance
Only authorized personnel may repair the tool using original replacement parts to ensure safety.

1.3 Special Safety Instructions
Never place your hands or other body parts in the working area of the hydraulic crimping tool!
If the tool is severely damaged, causing oil leakage or cylinder rupture, or damage to the piston and jaws, stop working immediately. Unauthorized repairs may lead to serious injury.
Only use RTM original parts for replacements.
Only trained personnel should operate the RTM-S0106 crimping tool.
Fittings and hoses must be compatible.
Defective fittings should be cut off and replaced with new parts before crimping.
After crimping, each fitting must undergo a pressure test to meet process requirements.
