SAE J1401 Hydraulic Brake Hose
SAE J1401 is a standard for hydraulic brake hose assemblies used for automotive brake systems. It specifies requirements for hydraulic brake hose assemblies made of a synthetic rubber tube and reinforced with one or more textile braids for use with nonpetroleum-base brake fluids. The standard covers hose assemblies with an inside diameter of 3.2 mm (1/8 in) up to 10.3 mm (3/8 in). It also specifies the performance requirements and test methods for the hose assemblies.
SAE J1401 hydraulic brake hose, also known as Oil break hose, is designed for pressure transmission for auto, truck, and trailer hydraulic pressure brake systems. The hose is produced with high-quality braided polyester or nylon materials.
SAE J1401 brake hose comprises three parts: inner rubber layer, middle rubber layer, and steel wire braid layer.
The inner rubber layer is made of special rubber material, which is resistant to high temperatures and has good oil resistance.
The middle rubber layer is a textile braid in PVA,
the steel wire braid layer is a protective cover of EPDM rubber
